Thank you for taking the time to visit our web-site. My name is LeAnn Gerber and I started Gerber & Company Foods, a Certified Minority Women Owned Business, with the belief that I could make a significant difference in buying and preparing food within the food industry. I began my food career at the young age of four when my mother taught me how to make homemade bread on our Indiana farm. At the age of 10, I worked during summer break for my Uncle Norm in upstate New York at his restaurant, Schultz’s Fastidious Foods. It still is family owned and continues to serve wonderful food after 40 years. This strong work ethic taught me that the harder I worked towards my goals, the more likely the appreciated value of my efforts would continue to grow. With this in mind, at the age of 17, I chose to graduate at mid-term during my senior year of high school and start catering. I actually won the catering contract for my own senior prom and fed over 350 students and teachers. It's clear that the food business has been a foundation in my life and I cannot imagine doing anything else. Besides currently owning and running Gerber & Company Foods, over the last 25 years I have owned two catering businesses and a restaurant/dinner theater. I took a seven year liaison in the middle of those endeavors to work for the Hyatt Regency Corporation as a banquet manager and also at Sysco Foods in marketing. These positions expanded my knowledge in management and broadened my scope of the buying/selling process of wholesale foods. This also allowed me entrance into many food establishments where I could further learn about their buying patterns. Eight years ago, Gerber & Company Foods was born and originated by offering a Home Meal Replacement program where clients ordered meals for their families for a month at a time. This service was in conjunction with a full catering service in the greater Fort Wayne, Indiana area. With the changes in the economy, many have discovered the necessity of making more judicious decisions concerning purchasing, overhead, and labor costs. To address these needs, I decided to focus more on opportunity buying. I realized that food costs could be cut by 30-60% just by purchasing items not open to the regular market or by buying in larger quantities. With my varied experiences in buying this way, I knew I could provide part of a solution to help many others meet their goals without sacrificing quality; In fact, I could enable clients to increase quality with less cost. Gerber & Company Foods specifically focuses on opportunity buying and we have had a huge impact in lowering food costs for numerous clients. We would be happy to share our testimonials with you from satisfied clients ranging from casinos, to universities, to military bases. We regularly offer you specials and work with you on a plan to source product according to your explicit needs. Give us a wish list and we will work to make those wishes a reality all the while saving you 30-60% on your food costs without losing quality. Contact Us for more details.
